Formed in October 2023, Lux Brumalis is an Irish project-based chamber choir under the direction of David Yau. The choir was named Overall Winners of RTÉ Lyric FM's Choirs for Christmas competition in 2023 following their debut performance of O Magnum Mysterium by Tomás Luis de Victoria. The choir aims to tackle a wide variety of repertoire and create a beautiful ensemble sound! "
We came into existence as a choir for male voices in 2006, the aim being to develop a suitable repertoire, to be performed to the highest possible standards.
The choir membership now nears thirty six. New members are always welcome, so that we can aspire to even greater heights in choral concerts and competitions. We stage sometimes using just our own repertoire or in conjunction with another choir with a variety of soloists.
Membership of the choir is not linked to any particular area of Dublin. Rehearsals were first held in the music room at the rear of St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row. At present, we meet weekly in St. Patricks Hall at the Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar. We are grateful to both parishes for their support and accommodation. Our rehearsals are held in a spirit of hard work and cordial conviviality amounting to a pleasant and social evening.
